Affirmation of Faith
The Church Christ is building spans every nation, language, and tradition. We hold this affirmation humbly — not as a wall to divide, but as common ground to stand on together. These convictions reflect the historic, essential truths of the Christian faith and guide how we build, curate, and serve this community as we walk in the way of Jesus.
Who is God?
God is the one true and living God, eternally existing in three persons — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — equal in power, glory, and nature. He is perfectly holy, infinitely wise, all-powerful, and unchanging in His character and purposes.
Deuteronomy 6:4 · Matthew 28:19 · 2 Corinthians 13:14 · Isaiah 6:3 · Psalm 147:5 · Malachi 3:6
Who is Man?
Man was created by God in His own image, with inherent dignity and purpose. Through the fall of Adam, every person is born with a sinful nature, separated from God, and in need of redemption. Apart from the grace of God, no one can save himself.
Genesis 1:27 · Romans 3:23 · Romans 5:12 · Ephesians 2:1–3 · Jeremiah 17:9
Who is Jesus?
Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God who took on human flesh, born of a virgin, and lived a sinless life. He is fully God and fully man. He died on the cross as a substitutionary sacrifice for sin, was buried, and rose bodily from the dead on the third day. He ascended to heaven and will return in glory.
John 1:1,14 · Isaiah 7:14 · Hebrews 4:15 · 1 Peter 2:24 · 1 Corinthians 15:3–4 · Acts 1:9–11
How Are We Saved?
Salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. It is not earned by good works or human effort but is a free gift of God. All who repent of their sin and trust in Jesus Christ are forgiven, justified, and made new.
Ephesians 2:8–9 · Romans 10:9–10 · John 14:6 · Acts 4:12 · Titus 3:5 · 2 Corinthians 5:17
What is Scripture?
The Bible — all sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments — is the inspired, inerrant, and infallible Word of God. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit and is completely trustworthy in all that it teaches.
2 Timothy 3:16–17 · 2 Peter 1:20–21 · Psalm 19:7–9 · Hebrews 4:12 · John 17:17
Who Created the Universe?
God is the Creator of all things. He made the heavens and the earth and everything in them by His spoken word. All of creation exists to display His glory and is sustained by His power.
Genesis 1:1 · Colossians 1:16–17 · Hebrews 11:3 · Nehemiah 9:6 · Revelation 4:11
Is God’s Word the Ultimate Authority?
Yes. Scripture is the final and supreme authority in all matters of faith and practice. It stands above human tradition, cultural opinion, and personal experience. Every teaching, belief, and way of life should be tested and measured by the truth of God’s Word.
Isaiah 40:8 · Matthew 24:35 · Psalm 119:105 · Acts 17:11 · Matthew 4:4 · Proverbs 30:5–6
